About

The Oktoberfest, or traditionally called ‘Wiesn’, is a 16-day festival held each year in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to early October. It is one of the most famous events in Germany and the world's largest fair, with six million people from all over the world attending every year. The ‘Wiesn’ is an important part of the Bavarian culture. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations, modeled after the Munich event. Next to lots of beer and food, there is plenty of merchandise being sold at the Oktoberfest. In the ‘Wiesn’ idea contest, HYVE is looking for new, creative and innovative product designs for Oktoberfest merchandise. So let your imagination and creativity roam free and inspire us with your ideas and designs. 

 

How does the contest work?

You may contribute new ideas and evaluate them, as well as like and discuss the contributions of others. The platform is designed in order to create a real and innovative community.

Idea Submission

The submission of ideas is really simple. You can enter your idea with the help of an easy-to-use submission procedure that is self-explanatory.

 

For the submission of an idea, please complete the following steps:

  1. Get informed about the topic of the contest. Read through the information provided on this page
  2. Develop your idea!
  3. Specification of idea, title (give your idea a clear title) and description of your idea.
  4. Add further attachments to your idea contribution (optional)
  5. Upload images (.JPG, .GIF, .PNG, .IGS, .STP, .3DS, .VRML; max. 5MB)
  6. Upload documents (DOC, PDF, XLS, PPT, TXT, CSV)
  7. Add video
  8. Add Tags (optional)
  9. Submit your idea

 

Community Evaluation

As a registered user you can indicate your evaluation of an idea by assigning 1 to 5 stars to each criteria of the idea. The criteria are:

  • Feasibility
  • Creativity
  • Purchasing Potential
  • Traditional Fit

With your rating you help to select the most valuable ideas. Beyond that, the jury will also look at your evaluations to select the winners for the best ideas.

Finally, the jury will select the winners of the contest. For selecting the winners of the contest, the jury will also look at the evaluations.

Prices

Finally, the jury will select the winners of the contest based on the above mentioned evaluation. The three winners will receive the following prizes:

 

First winner: Invitation to the Oktoberfest

HYVE will invite you to experience the Wiesn in its full tradition. Enjoy an evening full of fun people, good food and traditional music. HYVE will bear the travel and hotel costs as well as dinner and drinks.

 

Second winner:

Slot as jury member in a Design Contest OR Internship at HYVE

Depending on your interests, you will have the choice to become a jury member in a design contest selected by HYVE or do an internship at the HYVE innovation community.

 

Third winner: HYVE Package

The HYVE package includes several special HYVE products such as honey,advocaat (with the special HYVE recipe), a T-Shirt, and other surprises.

 

Furthermore, the jury will select the MVP (Most Valuable Participant) of the contest, who was very active by delivering exceptional input through ideas, comments and evaluations. The participant will be rewarded with a HYVE Package.

 

Comments/Discussion

Besides the possibility of evaluating the ideas of others, you can also post comments on every idea or reply to the comments of others. Again, this increases your activity index and supports the jury in finding the winners. To add comments, you can use the convenient commenting function at the bottom of each idea.

 

You can also leave public messages to other community members on their profiles by using the message-function on the member's profile.

 

Tag Cloud

To explore the ideas, you can use the tagcloud. The tagcloud is a visual depiction of keywords which lead you to a list of ideas that are associated with the keyword you have selected. The tagcloud features all the tags you and other contestants have attached to the ideas. The larger the tag appears, the more ideas are attached to it.

 

 

Registration

In order to participate in the contest, you have to register. As a registered user you can contribute your ideas and become a candidate for the prizes and also read, evaluate and comment on other ideas. To finalize your registration, you have to agree to the Terms and Conditions. You will receive a confirmation email including an activation link. In case you want to use your Facebook-account just click on the "f-connect"-button on the right corner.
